Welding procedure of steel space frame

1.Quality requirements for bolted ball space frame and components Bar material: The blanking length and welding error of steel pipe and bar are within ±1mm Bolt ball: There should be no cracks on the surface, the distance error from the center of the ball to the surface of the screw hole is within ±10.2mm, and the angle deviation of the screw hole is ±30′. Welding should be carried out according to GBJ97-81: the welding of components must be of equal strength, and the welding quality should be strictly controlled. The ball should be heated to 50° before welding with 5016 or 5015 electrodes. 

2.Weld quality grade: the connection weld between the support plate, the bolt ball and the embedded part plate is all welded, the quality grade is 2, and the rest are 3. The construction drawings should reach the second level. 

3. The steel used in the load-bearing structure shall have proof of tensile strength, elongation, yield strength and sulfur and phosphorus content, and the welded structure shall also have proof of carbon content. The steel used for welded load-bearing structures and important non-welded load-bearing structures should also have a cold bending test qualification guarantee. 

4.The welding seam quality inspection of the space frames should meet the secondary standard requirements specified in the <<Steel Structure Engineering Construction Quality Acceptance Standards>> (GB50205-2020). 

5. The quality level of the weld shall comply with the current national standard “Code for Welding of Steel Structures” GB 50661 The inspection method shall comply with the current national standard “Code for Acceptance of Construction Quality of Steel Structure Engineering” GB 50205. For butt welds with a thickness of less than 6mm, ultrasonic flaw detection shall not be used to determine the weld quality grade.6. When the steel pipe and the sealing plate and the cone head form a rod, the butt welds at both ends are full penetration welds.

The welding process is an important process in the production of the steel space frame, and it must be carried out in strict accordance with the welding operation instructions. Minimize the residual stress caused by welding, and timely correct the deformation by means of flame heating.

A. When the steel pipe is welded with the sealing plate and the steel pipe, the groove shall be opened according to the requirements, and the groove angle shall meet the requirements of the angle formed between the electrode and the groove surface to avoid unfusion and slag inclusion. In addition, the groove gap should be Large enough so that the electrode arc can reach the bottom of the groove and avoid insufficient penetration depth.
B. Avoid setting the welding seam to the middle of the rod when the steel pipe is butted.
C. Matters needing attention in welding operation:
a. During manual arc welding, the conveying range should not be too large, and multi-pass and multi-layer welding is used.
During the process, the weld bead or interlayer welding slag, slag inclusion, oxide, etc. should be strictly removed. Grinding wheel, steel can be used.
Tools such as wire brushes.
b. The same welding seam should be welded continuously and completed at one time.
c. For various weld joints, after the welding is completed, the slag and metal spatter on the surface of the weld should be cleaned up.
Check the appearance quality of the weld, and there must be no depression, weld bead, undercut, blowhole, lack of fusion, crack
and other defects exist.
d. After the butt weld is welded, ultrasonic flaw detection should be carried out after 24 hours.
